This is a great capsule maker, with a couple of caveats. First are the instructions for capping. The orange center plate needs to be placed with the proper side up/down before applying capping pressure, or else the caps will not slide on and end up getting crushed, or crushing the filled half. Instructions don't mention this. There are also no markings to tell you which side needs to be up or down, however one side has a very small flare (hard to notice) around each of the capsule holes. The other does not. A simple piece of paper explaining, or a sticker on the orange plate would solve this. Second, the powder "tamper" for my unit (size 00) had tampers made for much smaller capsules... so when you go to tamp the powder down, it just squishes out the sides of each capsule. The tamper pegs should match the size of the capsules. Not sure if this was a mistake only for my unit, or if it's the only size offered. I did manage to work around it by tamping only very lightly, moving the pegs in a little circle within each capsule, but it would've been nice to have the proper size. Just FYI, I found out the hard way with another capsule maker that you don't want pre-separated capsules. In short time the 2 halves tend to distort differently due to tiny humidity fluctuations, and then they don't fit together when you try to cap them. Much easier to just separate them yourself.
