Automatic Capsule Filling Machine Price Guide: What Drives the Quote

This guide assumes you've already made the class decision. You need an automatic capsule filling machine — hand-filling and semi-automatic are behind you, or you've costed them out and they don't fit. The remaining question is narrower and harder to research: what determines the price of an automatic machine, and why does the same nominal output show up at different numbers?

Output tier is one of the major price drivers

Machine architecture at the same output

Two machines can share a rated output and differ in price because they're built differently. The SFK-3800 is rated at 228,000 capsules/hour — the same as the NJP-3800C — but is a continuous-motion machine with a compact footprint. The LF-80 reaches up to 40,000/hour using dosator dosing rather than tamping pin.

Dosing technology is a genuine price and suitability variable, not a badge. Tamping-pin dosing is used across the NJP models reviewed here for powders, granules, and pellets; dosator machines handle certain materials differently. If your formulation is unusual — poor flow, very low fill weight, pellets — raise it during scoping, because it can change which machine is appropriate regardless of your output target.

Capsule size tooling: the line item buyers miss

The NJP-400C, NJP-800C, and NJP-1200C product pages each specify capsule sizes 000 through 5 with change tooling, with one set of change tooling included and additional capsule-size tooling available on request. Confirm tooling range and inclusions for higher-output models during quotation.

This matters more than its line-item size suggests. A brand running one size today and planning three SKUs across two sizes next year is buying tooling either way — the only question is whether it's in the original quote or a later purchase order. Decide your size roadmap before you request pricing.

Power and facility fit

Power configuration varies by model and variant, and it's a real constraint rather than a footnote:

• NJP-400C: three-phase, available in 110V/60Hz and 220V/50Hz variants
• NJP-800C: 220V three-phase
• NJP-1200C: 110V/60Hz or 380V/50Hz by variant

A 380V requirement in a facility with 220V service is an electrical project sitting outside the machine quote. Confirm your supply before selecting a variant, and confirm power requirements for higher-output models during quotation.

Footprint scales with output too. The NJP-400C is described as the smallest automatic in the range at 720 × 680 × 1700 mm and 700 kg; the NJP-800C runs 1080 × 1240 × 1930 mm at 900 kg; the NJP-1200C 1180 × 1340 × 1980 mm at 900 kg. Footprint and utility requirements should be confirmed for the exact higher-output model before final selection, since installation cost and room layout depend on them as much as on the machine itself.

Construction, documentation, and inclusions

Installation, training, and commercial terms vary by model and project. Confirm the services and payment or financing options included or available in the specific quotation — a quote that covers the machine but not commissioning isn't a project budget.

• Documentation requirements for your quality system
